The annual Deaf Role Model event on 5th April event at secondary was very successful. There were three Deaf Role Models presenting on the day; James Cowdrill, personal trainer, Christopher Laing, Architecture Assistant PI, Mali Oram, teaching assistant and Jane Mervyn, professional photographer. The BSL interpreters were booked to voice over for the Deaf Role Models whom did a fantastic job.
The Blanche Nevile school house groups were allocated times to learn in each workshops during the morning. All pupils felt inspired, to start thinking about their potential future careers. The staff attended the event also felt inspired and recognise the importance of Deaf Role Models as positive examples to our deaf pupils and to encourage the pupils to achieve their potential.
The pupils and staff are looking forward to next years event to meet more inspirational Deaf Role Models.
