The Deaf Role Models Day at Blanche Nevile is such an important event in our school calendar. Held annually at the secondary school, Deaf professionals kindly give up their time to come and meet the students and give presentations about themselves and their jobs. What a fantastic experience for our students!
We really appreciate the role models taking time out of their busy and demanding schedules to come to our school.
We would like to say a huge thanks to Kate Rowley; Sign Language Researcher, Ross Edwards; Product designer and Agnes Dyab, Chair of British Deaf Association (BDA).
The presentations were so inspiring and our pupils have been eagerly discussing how much they have learned and how great it was to meet the role models. It has started the students thinking of what they would like to do in the future…
Thank you so much once again to our role models for everything that you have done to make our Deaf Role Models Day really mean something for our school.
You are an inspiration!
