In collaboration with the Women of the World festival (WoW), some of our Blanche Nevile Secondary School students were invited to the Southbank Centre to celebrate International Women’s Day which takes place on the 8th March every year.
Our Blanche Nevile girls participated in various, inspiring workshops and even had the opportunity to come up with an invention. The girls created glasses that can project subtitles to translate any speech sounds – what a lovely invention. They presented their idea to all the other schools present which was a fantastic way to raise Deaf awareness.
The students were incredibly excited to have the opportunity to meet the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, who gave an empowering speech about the strength of women. Thanks Sadiq!
What a memorable day for everyone and we hope we can visit again next year.
