Our Vision
At Blanche Nevile, we are an ambitious, warm and inclusive community where every child belongs and is empowered to achieve their potential. We celebrate deafness, diversity, culture and identity, supporting each learner to grow socially, emotionally, physically and academically.
We value both English and British Sign Language equally in their own right, recognising the richness that bilingual communication brings. Our school motto, ‘the best of both worlds ’ , is embedded throughout our daily experiences.
We have high expectations for all and are committed to removing barriers so every child can thrive. Through excellent teaching, strong partnerships and a focus on wellbeing, we ensure all children are confident, proud and fully prepared for their future. Our Values
The hand illustration, displayed around the school, represents our core values, was co-produced by staff, with colleagues contributing the words and ideas that they felt best reflected our school community. The key themes that emerged from our co-production were communication, community, respect, deaf identity and culture, success, and kindness. We have worked to capture these themes within five core values, represented by the hand. We use our hands to communicate through sign language, so it is fitting that our values are embedded on our hands. They are:

These values underpin our ambition to be a school that is proud in all aspects of life: proud to be part of our school community, proud to be deaf, and proud of one another and our achievements.
